A number of US airlines have announced a sale on fares between a number of cites. The sale is only available for a few short days, so you will need to book quickly. There are some great prices on offer that include taxes, from American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Southwest, and AirTran, according to a recent article written by George Hobica from Air Fare Watch Dg and published in Frommer's.

If you're sick of the cold, there are plenty of warm destinations on the list. You can head to Sarasota or Pensacola with AirTran for as little as $262 round-trip. Or if your prefer to do some partying, book a Las Vegas hotel and head to the city with Southwest for less than $250 return.

If you don't mind the snow and want to get some shopping and ice-skating in before the end of winter and the start of the tourist season, then head to New York City, some airlines are offering flights from some destinations to New York City for less than $200 round-trip. Plus, hotels in New York come in all budget ranges, so you could probably manage a budge break if you wanted. You can even find return flights from Los Angelse to New York city for around $240. Don't limit yourself to the airlines mentioned, if you do some savvy searching most US airlines are offering some great fares at the moment, so get searching.
