As a tourist in New York City you'll probably have a list of different
attractions that you want to visit during your trip. If you're planning on
visiting an number of places a great way to save some money is to get an attraction
pass. There are few different passes that will give you significant savings.
Pick a pass that best suits what you plan on doing.
Explorer Pass
The Explorer Pass is great because you can customise it to include three
to 10 different activities. You won't have to decide which specific attractions
you want to go to either, just the number. The three attraction pass costs
$74.99 for adults and $52.99 for kids. If you want to see more attractions now
is a good time to buy because Explorer Pass is offering an additional
15-percent off its five, seven, and ten attraction passes. You can choose to
have your pass sent to you or you can pick it up at a redemption centre when
you arrive in New York City. Attractions you can choose from include, the
Empire State Building Observatory, American Museum of Natural History, the
Statue of Liberty, NBC Studio Tour, and Madame Tussauds. There are 52
attractions to choose from in total. It is a good idea to check the specific
details of each attraction you pick as some may require you to make a
reservation in advance. You'll also get to skip to the front of the line at
some locations, saving you time. Reviews of this pass are mostly positive, it
is definitely worth checking out.
New York CityPASS
The New York CityPASS is a set pass that you can't customise. It will
give you entry into the six most popular attractions in New York City. If you
think these are the six attractions you want to see then this pass is better
value for money than the explorer pass, as you get six attractions for $89 or
$64 for kids. Attractions included on the pass are the Statue of Liberty and
Ellis Island, the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim, the Metropolitan Museum
of Art, and the American Museum of Natural History. All of these attractions are
easy to reach if you're staying in a New York hotel. The pass is really easy to
use. When you buy one online you will get an e-ticket. When you go to the first
attraction you just have to ask for a CityPass booklet. The pass also lets you
avoid long lines, which is great if your visiting during peak times.
Downtown Culture Pass
The Downtown Culture Pass is the cheapest pass and the best one to get
if you love museums. Base yourself in a New York hotel in Lower Manhattan and
you'll be able to walk to most of the attractions included in this pass. Adult
passes cost only $25 each which gives you a saving of nearly 70-percent. Passes
for kids aged 13-17 cost $15, and passes for younger kids cost only $5. Besides
entry into ten great attractions the pass will also help you save money on
other activities. This pass is really great for anyone visiting the city. The
pass will give you discounts on certain events at the Tribecca Performing Arts
Center, in museum gift shops, and food and drink at the Killarney Rose Pub and
Mercantile Grill. While the pass does not include the city's major museums, it
still includes plenty of interesting places and for the money it's a great way
to see some of the lesser known museums in the city.
